You've Heard about GDPR?
I expect so, by now. This is an important re-evaluation about how companies you deal with online handle the data you choose to give.  It's a really good law. It puts a requirement on "the data processor" (that's me) to keep your info safe, and treat it with the extreme respect it deserves.  As it stands, this law applies to companies which operate within the EU - whether because (like us) they're based there, or because they deal with EU citizens (which we do). But I think this is such good legislation it should apply to all of you, regardless of where you live in the world.   When I ran an audit on our practises I was really pleased to recognise we already comply with this legislation.  So we extend this cover and standard of doing business to all of you, without reservation.

What you have a right to expect:
- that your information is kept secure (it is)
- that third parties we work with are fully compliant (they are, but I cannot say they apply the same global application as we do)
- that as far as possible you should be able to access information held by us yourselves, and change it where necessary
- that we are willing and happy to respond fully to enquiries about data held by us about you, and to implement any changes requested by you.
- that we will only ever use data provided to us by you for the stated intended purpose you agreed to on supplying it.
- that where changes occur in this policy we will tell you so, and if necessary, seek your agreement.
- that we will not retain your information in contradiction to your instructions, or for longer than 6 years (*see note below)

That's the short version ;-) The long legal version is below. I am very protective of my own online information.  I therefor assume you are the same.  We have never and will never sell your contact info, history of activity on this site, or personally divulged information with anybody else.

As a general rule we retain info about you for as long as the tax authorities in Britain require us to (6 years).  However, an exception to this can be transcripts of readings. I hold on to these because on occasion people lose their copy, and want to go back to read over.  However if you want me to delete - tell me so.  I will, of course, comply to your request.

AND NOW THE LEGAL BUMPH:

General
Angel Paths (and trusted partners acting on our behalf) uses your personal data:

- to provide goods and services to you;

- to better understand how you use the Angel Paths website

- to manage any registered account(s) that you hold with us;

- to verify your identity;

- for crime and fraud prevention, detection and related purposes;

- with your agreement, to contact you electronically about promotional offers and products and services which we think may interest you;

- where we have a legal right or duty to use or disclose your information (for example in relation to an investigation by a public authority or in a legal dispute).

Storage of personal data
The database and its contents remain at our company and stay with data processors or servers acting on our behalf and responsible to us. Your personal data will not be passed on by us or by our agents for use by third parties in any form whatsoever, unless we have obtained your consent or are legally required to do so. We will retain control of and responsibility for the use of any personal data you disclose to us.

Right of Access and Correction
You have the right to review and amend any personal data stored in our system if you believe it may be out of date or incorrect. Just send an email to the address given here.

Right of Cancellation
You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data in the future. Again, just send an email to the address given here.

Our service providers and suppliers
In order to make certain services available to you, we may need to share your personal data with some of our service partners.  These include IT and Ezine  providers.  We have already ascertained on your behalf that all partners we use are compliant with GDPR.

Other third parties
Aside from our service providers, Angel Paths will not disclose your personal data to any third party, except as set out below.  We will never sell or rent our customer data to other organisations for marketing purposes.

We may share your data with:
- credit reference agencies where necessary for card payments;

- governmental bodies, regulators, law enforcement agencies, courts/tribunals and insurers where we are required to do so: -

- to comply with our legal obligations;

- to exercise our legal rights (for example in court cases);

- for the prevention, detection, investigation of crime or prosecution of offenders; and

- for the protection of our employees and customers.

International transfers
To deliver products and services to you, it is sometimes necessary for us to share your data outside of the European Economic Area.  This will typically occur when service providers are located outside the EEA or if you are based outside the EEA.  These transfers are subject to special rules under data protection laws.

If this happens, we will ensure that the transfer will be compliant with data protection law and all personal data will be secure.  Our standard practice is to use ‘standard data protection clauses’ which have been approved by the European Commission for such transfers.

How long do we keep your data?
We will not retain your data for longer than necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. Different retention periods apply for different types of data, however the longest we will normally hold any personal data is 6 years (though it should be noted, reading transcripts may be retained fot longer, where practical).
