Angel Paths Books
All three Angel Paths Tarot Guides - Guide to the Tarot, Advanced Reading Techniques, and This Time It's Personal - are available as eBooks and paperbacks!
As most of you will know, Jan Shepherd was a world leading expert on the Tarot. She started learning all about the Tarot at the age of 15, and continually practiced, researched, and experimented on the subject until she died in 2019. In 1997, she set up Angel Paths - a website containing her guides to the cards, reviews of decks, discussion and healing forums, and much more.
During the 2010s, she published in the format of PDFs, her three books - The Angel Paths Guide to the Tarot, Advanced Reading Techniques, and This Time It's Personal, expanding on the material on the Angel Paths website, delving into both the personal development to be had from the concepts behind the cards, and how to read for others ethically.
Mandy Wiebe, Graham Miller and myself (Ellie Miller) were privileged enough to be involved with Angel Paths from the very start, and to be part of the team that helped Jan to put these books together. In discussions in those years, she made it clear that she wanted to publish the books formally, but had siginificant reservations about the publishing industry, especially the world's biggest book selling platform, which will remain nameless :-)
After her death, Jan left the Angel Paths business to myself and Graham, and since that time we've been working on making her books available as widely as possible. The big news is, thanks to advances in the technology and business models of the publishing industry, we've finally been able to make all three books available in both paperback and eBook format, including Kindle, Kobo, Nook, Apple Books, and many more.
The paperback versions are available outside of the UK from Barnes and Noble (via the links below), but for some reason not within the UK. Within the UK you can buy the paperbacks directly from Angel Paths. Please email admin@angelpaths.com to place an order. Please note that although illustrations are included, they are in black and white, and not full colour.
Angel Paths Guide to the Tarot - 2nd Edition
This in-depth guide to the Tarot contains a wealth of information taken from Jan Shepherd's original Tarot Courses, and from the Angel Paths website. The Guide is a great introduction for those right at the start of their Tarot journey, but is also an essential reference guide for anyone already familiar with the Tarot, and for experienced or professional readers. In addition to detailed descriptions of all 78 cards, the book contains exercises, articles on subjects such as The Elements, Numerology, Tarot and Symbolism, and two of the most popular spreads from the Angel Paths website.

Advanced Reading Techniques
The second eBook in Jan Shepherd's series of Tarot Guides is a more advanced exploration of the cards as used for Tarot reading. Jan spent over 40 years reading and researching the Tarot, and this book describes some of the more common interactions between cards and how to interpret them. It also acts as a springboard for the reader into their own broader and more perceptive interpretations. The book also contains articles on Reading for Others, Dignifications and Reversals, and On Interpreting Difficult Readings, making this an essential guide to those taking their first steps into reading Tarot for other people.

This Time It's Personal
This is the third eBook of Jan's Guides to the Tarot. Packed with exercises, visualisations and commentaries, this book explores the complex spiritual messages behind each card. In Jan's words:
"I see Tarot as one of the essential tools in the process of self-discovery and development. Each card presents us with a facet of human experience – and often accompanies this with a viable method of meeting that event in a fashion that will yield the best result or outcome for us. Each of these 78 cards reflects back to us a different take on life itself, a facet of human experience which we will meet at some point on our journey. A strong recognition of each facet’s nuance and variation equips us efficiently to approach life from a position of harmony with spirit, and light."
